Building Communities

Land Australia, as part of the Hickinbotham Group, has developed more than 60 community estates over the past 65 years. Land Australia’s planners have crafted some of Adelaide’s most loved and innovative estates where communities enjoy a careful balance of residential, recreational and open spaces.

We create places that residents love and are proud to live in

Our community estates are created with people in mind. Being builders as well as developers means the team fully understands how every detail of the design can have a major impact on quality of life.

Lively and efficient communities

Land Australia doesn’t just create what a community needs today; they take the time to understand what this new community will need 5, 10 and 20 years from now. If the development warrants it, allowances are made for schools, community facilities, shops and transport.

AboutUs School

Careful and thoughtful planning

The planners strive to enhance the land where a community estate is being built. They aim to work with the natural elements of the landscape, incorporate street designs that feel intuitive and achieve the best from the allotment orientation of each home.
Land Australia has always worked hard to incorporate sustainability measures into all stages of planning to benefit the environment and also create better community spaces.
Innovative, waterwise infrastructure put in place during the early building stages allows water to be stored and re-used for amenities and to maintain lush parks. Where possible, Land Australia also tries to incorporate designs to make shops and open spaces easy to access, which means people can use their cars less.

One example of where Land Australia has delivered a great community outcome is the Two Wells developments which will include up to 3,400 homes when complete. This thoughtfully designed northern development has won The Planning Institute of Australia (SA) Award for Planning Excellence. It’s about giving communities what they need to grow easily in the long term and where people and families can thrive. Communities these residents are proud to call home.
